Meet Bunbly, now on the web for the whole family

    • We have a new name: Bunbly, at bunbly.com. Same promise: your family's stories, in their own voice.
    • Pip is now Grandma's stuffed bunny, hand-stitched and patched, and painted the same in every pose.
    • The example stories are now told in warm, natural voices, and the words light up right on time as they speak.
    • Start in your browser, no app needed: tell us who you'd love to hear from, and your family's stories arrive at bunbly.com.
    • Hear from more than one person. Pick Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa or anyone by name. If your parents share a phone, they can answer together.
    • One plan covers two people, so Mom and Dad are included: $99 a year or $12.99 a month. Each extra person can be added for a little more.
    • Bunbly opens soon. Join the waitlist at bunbly.com, and see a demo in the meantime.
    • Questions can be about where they grew up and when: their hometown, the years they were young.
    • Pick the day and time questions arrive, or a special day to begin, like a birthday or Christmas morning. It makes a lovely gift.
    • Invitations come from you, in your own messages. Nobody gets a text from us until they've said yes themselves.
    • Every story has its own page: their voice, every word lighting up as it's said (tap a word to jump there), and a private link to share.
    • Line up your own questions, or pick from our library, organized by topic.
    • Take a break whenever they need one, download everything anytime, and cancel in Settings.
    • Sign in with a code from your email. No password.
    • A new home page: Pip's attic by torchlight, then a day in the life of one question, from Sunday morning to a story by evening. A clear header and big buttons, and a sleepy Pip at the bottom who wakes up if you tap him.
    • See a demo before you buy: a sample family page with real stories to play, and exactly what your parents will see.

A front door, and a better set of questions

    • bunbly.com has a home that tells a story: in a dark attic, a torchlight finds Pip, Grandma's old stuffed bunny, and from there a question goes out on Sunday morning and her voice comes home that night, word by word. Plus a plain-English privacy policy and terms.
    • New, more elegant type across the app and the website: a refined serif for headlines and a clean sans for everything you read.
    • Questions arrive in Messages, and parents can answer the easiest way there is: by replying with a voice message. A recording page with one big button is always a tap away too.
    • Parents get a simple invitation page and a recording page with very large words and a way to listen back before sending.
    • If the connection drops while sending, the recording is kept safe on the phone until it goes through.
    • "Not this one?" lets a parent ask for a different question with one tap.
    • A rewritten library of 143 questions: specific, sensory and story-shaped, with seasonal ones for the holidays and gentle ones after a quiet week.
    • Questions can be about where they grew up and when: their hometown, the music of their teenage years, and memories from India, Mexico, the Philippines, China, Korea and Vietnam.
    • Each question suggests a comfortable length (2 to 5 minutes), and the recorder gently shows when they've reached it. Going longer is always welcome.
    • Download everything, anytime: every original recording, transcripts, and a keepsake page that plays offline on any computer. Parents can download their own recordings too.
    • New prices: $79 a year, or $9.99 a month.
    • A new app icon: Pip, holding a letter.
    • What's New in the app now has an envelope instead of sparkles.
